SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

ChiZine Publications and its imprints will be open to submissions until December 31, 2017 to writers from any part of the world, but ONLY if they identify as belonging to one of the following groups:

  • Aboriginal Peoples
  • culturally diverse groups
  • people of colour
  • mixed race people
  • people who are Deaf or have disabilities
  • Canada’s official language minority communities
  • non-binary/LGBTQIA+
  • people who identify as women

OUR IMPRINTS:

HOW TO SUBMIT:

  • send the WHOLE NOVEL
  • indicate in your cover letter how you identify, with respect to our guidelines above
  • use Standard Manuscript Format (DO NOT USE Courier, or Arial, or other sans serif fonts)
  • we only publish in English, so if your novel is written in another language, please provide a translation
  • DO NOT SEND QUERIES
  • DO NOT SEND UNFINISHED NOVELS
  • DO NOT SEND SAMPLE CHAPTERS
  • DO NOT SEND ANY OF THE FOLLOWING:
    • short story collections of ANY kind
    • serial killer novels (Dexter and Hannibal Lecter retreads)
    • Lord of the Rings retreads
    • Game of Thrones retreads
    • science fiction novels in which the characters are secondary to the plot/science (and therefore 2-dimensional)
    • poorly written, over-the-top horror novels
    • erotica/porn
    • completely incomprehensible “experimental” poetry

NOTE: The best way to know what kind of things we like is to . . . well . . . read one of our books! And remember our motto: “Embrace the Odd.”
